1) smoother draw 2) lighter bow weight 3) faster speed 4) durable..... Hoyt dry fire tests their bows 1500 times in testing 5) go on archery talk and see how many Z7 vs the Carbon Elements there are for sale Its not even close. 6) These bows are hard hitting and accurate
I have been shooting bows for over 20 years and the Hoyt Carbon Element is the best shooring bow I have ever drawn back. I know I shoot Hoyt but when I first shot the CE I was shooting PSE. No bow I have ever owned or shot has come close to the CE and believe me I have owned a bunch.

Yes a pretty significant one. I believe the Z7 is around 800 new and the Carbon Element is around 1200.

You should get whatever suits YOU best! That really helps him out and gives him good information... Well whether you like it or not it is the truth, of course your gonna tell him to go with the Hoyt cause that's what you like and what you shoot, so how is that giving him usefull info, how's he going to know what's what if he don't go fit HISSELF to a bow?

Yeah and if you will read my previous post I WAS SHOOTING PSE WHEN I FIRST SHOT THE CARBON ELEMENT, and if I was still shooting my PSE X Force I would still say the Carbon Element was the best bow on the market. Fortunately I was in a position that I could afford a new bow. Unfortunately I didnt have enough money to buy a Carbon Element or I would be shooting one. I am shooting the Maxxis 31 and I still say the CE is a better bow. The man is looking for info on the CE. I have shot both the CE, the Z7 and the Z7 Extreme and I believe I have valid info that might be useful to him. If he would have asked about the Z7 vs brand X bow and I had shot both I would have given valid resons why he needs to look at the Z7 even though IMO the Z7 is way overhyped and not one of Mathews better bows if I think its an upgrade that someone needs to go check out. If someone is going to spend that kind of money on a bow they are more than likely pretty serious about it and they already know they need to go shoot them and see what is better for them.

I have been shooting a Mathews Z7 since January 2010. I have harvested two bucks, two does, several hogs, rabbits, and even a few racoons. The Z7 is a great bow - I have NEVER missed an animal that I have pulled the release on. How much better can a bow get than that?
Now, I did shoot a Hoyt Carbon Element. Is it a "better" bow than a Z7? I would say that it probably is. It was a little smoother, alot lighter, and very quiet. However, the price difference is significant and it was not so much more smoother, quieter, or lighter that I thought it was worth an extra $400+.
It may or may not be one of the best bows on the market, but it definitely is one of the most expensive. It comes down to do you really need to spend the extra money to have more success in hunting game. In my case definitely NOT. I did not buy a Carbon Element and I have not missed it.
BTW - my son shoots a Hoyt Maxxis and he loves it. I shot it and I could not hit the broad side of a barn with it. It just did not feel right to me, but he would never trade it for anything.
Mathews Z7 Bow for Whitetail and Hogs Remington R-15 .223 REM for predators I also like to "hunt" sporting clays with my Benelli SuperSport!

CE - nope not worth the extra money out of my pocket - but that was my choice and decision after shooting the CE. Of course if you bought one those folks felt it was worth the extra money vs. brand X.
But that is a decision you have to make on your own and not relying on a bunch of folks who have consumed too much Mftg Specific Kool-aid.

Nice bow. Not worth $1200 to me though. On a back pack in elk hunt though a couple of pounds less on your bow would be nice.

That is great Question and Jerry answered quite well. Get what suits you. The CE would suit me best because... I spot and stalk, cover serveral miles while hunting, and I need a lighter bow. If I mainly hunted out of a blind and walked maybe a mile while hunting the Z7 the would be the bow for me. That being said, there are a lot of bows out there that are just as light and actually faster than the CE. There are a lot of bows out there that are just as heavy and vibration free as the Z7. Make a list of how you hunt and what you need in your bow. Korbin http://www.korbinsarchery.com/

Nice bow. Not worth $1200 to me though. This ^^^ Also, there are many comments on weight but isnt the Z7 3.7 lbs vs 3.6 for the CE?? I could be wrong about the weight but if that is the case I don't think that 1.5oz is enough to justify the cost diff?? Shootability and other factors maybe but weight?

I can't offer any insight on the Z7, but I got a CE for F'day. I had been shooting a Browning Tornado. The CE is absolutely fantastic. I have no complaints.

Currently shooting Z7, looking at the Carbon Element, is it worth the difference in price and why. Thank You. you have to stay away from Bargain Hunter outdoors, there trying to get me to junk my omen for the carbon element as well. I am a terrible example because I am about as cheap as they come. I shoot PSE because I have found 4 what I consider great to incredible deals on PSE bows. If I was ever going to buy a new bow I would want it to do something spectacular. The omen is fun because its fast. It costs alot of money because it is fast but bowtech, mathews and hoyt aren't going to pass it anytime soon so that to me would be a reason to drop big money on them. To say a bow is smoother and stronger is absolutely no lie. The bow only has a 320 IBO there are plenty of buttery smooth bows on the market that will run laps around the Carbon Element. Yes the bow is lighter, but as mentioned you are talking about 3 pounds vs 4 pounds seems like you could choose lighter accessories and be at nearly an identical weight. Hoyt bows are stronger, you can drive a loaded disel truck over and get up and shoot them. If I was going to drop $1400 on a bow that is the last thing I would need to risk. I know for a fact if I dry fired my omen it would turn into dozens of little pieces but I try to have the decency to nock an arrow before I ever pull the bow back. The quiet factor goes back to speed if you are only shooting 320 fps there is less energy being transferred which = a quieter shot. So the moral of the story here is I am a terrible example because I find it laughable at people that go out and buy a brand new bow each year that is marginally better. If I was going to make an $800 change in my archery setup I would want something spectacular to change. Unless the Z7 isn't shooting well for you I sure can't see going to a slower bow even if it looks really really cool... Also your single cam is going to feel as smooth if not smoother than the hoyt anyway. End of the day I wouldn't do it but I can't see spending more than about $500 on a bow when there are so many people giving away decent used bows.

Random 2 cents, The new Dream Season evo is a hard sitting smooth drawing son of a gun if I could figure out how to get into one evenly I'd give up my omen.

Try them both first. But here's my 2cents. The Mathews is too big, less is more when ur hunting. If ur a goo shot then the bow compliments you, both have excellent benefits to a novice, but I feel for hunting the Hoyt is just superior, better engineered and helps u as much as a bow can other than hooting an arrow. The size, smooth draw back, silent, stealthy, the Hoyt's got hat u want in a bow. As for the price tag, I will tell you I'm a millionaire so I didn't en look at it, but no one in a forums gonna be able tell u what u can afford. So figure a budget then buy in it. If cash permits, buy the Hoyt.

Honestly it's like above have said. Whatever fits you best and whatever you can afford. Either bow is gonna kill whatever it is your hunting, it's whatever suits you best.
