Nope not that I have seen and if it is coon proof it is deer proof. Trap or shoot them is the only way to cut the competition down on that style feeder.

well, I guess my only option may be to hope the deer eat the feed before the sun goes down. Luckily I have only caught the coons in my camera around midnight / early morning hours :-). Guess I need to add coon trap to my list of things to buy :-)

The deer eat way before the coons have a chance with my lamcos well, I guess my only option may be to hope the deer eat the feed before the sun goes down. stxranchman: you are correct. I did notice 2-3 weeks after the feeder was put up I was not seeing alot of activity. However I did change the area quite a bit. Meaning I put up a fence and the new feeder. (note we have cows on our lease) Before I was feeding from a traditional spin feeder that was not fenced. See pic below. I assume it will take the deer awhile to get use to. I use these pain in the @$$ moultree cameras and unfortunately after I put the feeder up I only had about 2 weeks of pictures before the batteries went dead. Hopefully the deer will get use to jumping the fence as well as the new feeder :-).

If it stays dry and the browse gets sparse they will be there. The closer to dark you can feed the better off you will be IMO. The bucks are more likely to feed in the coolest part of the day. Once you get them started and stick to a feeding routine they will clean up the feed before the coons do. But you will have to manage the coon population as well if not they will be there when ever the feeder goes off. Big boar coons can run off any size deer from a feeder.
