Hey Guys, a group of us are starting a local chapter of the Christian Sportsmen’s Fellowship (http://www.christiansportsman.com/). We are having a kickoff Tuesday November 6th at 7:00 pm in NW Ft Worth for anyone that may be interested. This would be a great way for local sportsmen to meet and for some of you guides to press the flesh so to speak. If this is something that you might want to be a part of and need more details please email me.
Thanks,
Steve

Is this organization part of a local church or just a bunch of fellow Christian outdoormen getting together? Just curious and Id be interested to meet some THFer's.

It is a new chapter starting here in Ft Worth and we are hoping to get men from all over the area interested. We are not affiliated with just one church, but many. The goal is to bring together a group that enjoys the outdoors and would be interested in different camping, fishing, hunting trips and just to be with other like minded sportsmen. Our first meeting is on Tuesday Nov 6, 2007 at Lake Country Church 8777 Boat Club Road Fort Worth, Texas 76179. This is a temporary meeting place as we plan to get something a little more centralized in Tarrant County. If this is something that would interest you please come to our first meeting or call me at (817) 487-7739 for more details. http://www.christiansportsman.com/Thanks, Steve

Good Morning All,
I want to thank all the THF'ers that made it out last night, you made me look good. LOL! I think that we had a good turnout overall and with a little work we can have a great club. I hope to see you guys for our next meeting in December.
Thanks again,
Steve

Clay,
Good to meet you and was glad that you were able to come. I hope that we can schedule an event in your neck of the woods after the first of the year.
To everyone else, if you are interested and were not able to attend last night, I would be happy to add you to our group email list. That way you can keep informed of our monthly meeting times, dates and places, just shoot me a pm or email.
Steve

Steve, I thought the get together went great! I'll work on finding a place down this way for an upcoming meeting. For those who thought about going, but didn't make it, you missed out. There was some great fellowship and the speaker kept your attention easily! Next month we'll have to have some hot coffee! For those that are curious, this is not a "churchy" atmosphere that might not appeal to some. The whole idea is getting a group of guys together that share a love for the outdoors. That can mean hunting, fishing, hiking, canoeing, sporting clays or even underwater basket weaving. Ok, well, maybe not that last one? I'd encourage anyone that thinks they might even be remotely interested to try to make the next meeting. It's scheduled for the first Tuesday of the month, Dec. 4th. Tim

Tim,
I could not have said that better myself. Oh, by the way, there was a guy that got up and made coffee, he just didn't announce it. I think he was hogging it. LOL! See ya in December.

Say, I like this idea and have just now seen the post. Where are the meetings, times, dates, locations, etc. please.

The last one was at Lake Country Church, on Boat Club Road, up by Eagle Mountain Lake. They were looking for a place that would be more centrally, I'm keeping my eyes open for a place down this way

Don't forget December's meeting, Tuesday the 4th @ 7 PM. map Once you get to the address, the meeting place is in what appears to be an old shopping center on the South end of the complex. You should be able to see all of the trucks parked outside.
