I am considering getting a video camera for filming my hunts or rather shots. I would like the option to mount it to my rifle or on a tripod. Durability and ease of use are very important.
Since I don't have a clue what to get or what to look for in a camera I was hoping y'all would enlighten me on the subject.
Thanks,
Mchgnmike

I don't know much about them, but I have seen "action cams" that can be mounted on just about anything. "Cyberguys" has some(item #2040155), but there are others. I've seen them mounted on bike riders helmets, handle bars, car roofs etc. Probably have to come up with your own gun mount.

Video cameras for hunting can get very expensive. I don't know how much you are willing to spend, but if you want to get quality action and outdoor footage then you should expect to spend at least $1000. It is possible to get decent footage from a $500 video camera if you are just looking to preserve some memories. A good spot to start is this website: http://www.bestforhunting.com/?page_id=514 They list the best video cameras for hunting and have it broke down by different price ranges. I took the advice and am happy with my purchase. I spent $1000 and get good quality footage from a canon vixia. I forget the exact model, but there is a newer model and the website above has updated and changed things around since then. Good Luck!

The go pro is not bad but the focus is pretty short. I use a go pro and a Sony AX 2000 to make TV shows for the Sportsman Channel. Not Cheap but you really get what you pay for on cameras
