I was thinking this weekend about cooking some deer and some pig in a slow cooker. I haven't used a slow cooker much so I was wonder if y'all could give me some ideas. Im thinking I want the meat for tacos or burittos. Any good recipes or how long it needs to cook and what temperature please. Thank you very much.

I once drank muddy water out of a hoof print and was dang glad to get it.

I always put my mean in with some paprika, salt and pepper. throw some onions and jaliponos in with it. Fill it up about quarter of the way with water. Turn it on either low or high and let it sit till the mean is good and tender. the longer the better. But dont forget to add more water as you go so it wont burn.

Put it in there with a couple bottles of your favorite bbq sauce, a cup of grape jelly, and 1/2 cup of diced onions. up

Easiest recipe ever and good too!
Put your meat in the crock, dump one large jar of picante sauce on it then fill the jar with water and dump that on it.Slow cook overnite or for a good 6-8 hrs. Depending on your taste use Mild,Medium,or Hot! We use this all time turns out great, everytime! Can be used on tacos,or whatever? We use it to make pull pork/deer nachos!!!!!!!! ENJOY!

You can't hardly go wrong with a crockpot! Two tips:

1. Don't overdo it on the seasoning. A little goes a long way because nothing really boils off in a crockpot.

2. You don't want to cook the stuff without any liquid, but be careful you don't fill it to the top with liquid at the outset. Again, nothing really boils off, and the liquid level might actually go up once things start cooking.

3. If you cook on 'low', plan on 12 hours cooking time. If you cook on 'high', plan on 8 hours cooking time.

4. For a pork roast, I throw in a bunch of fresh mushrooms, a half an onion, some sliced carrots and potatoes, some garlic powder and some canned pineapple juice.
