That is really long line. I would not use tex rig with line that long, I would just use normal set-up. Line that long will get all tangled up. But maybe it will work for you.

Might get away with 4'. I tie a loose over hand knot as close to the dekes as possible when transporting (and immediantly after getting them all back on the carabiner.)
All my teal dekes are on 3' line. That extra foot might drive you nuts . . . nothing like trying to untangle a wad of dekes as the horizon starts to brighten up.

4' is fine. I've had some divers texas rigged with alot longer line than that and have never had any problems.

that looks good. I use the same exact set up. The only thing I do differently is rig mine a little shorter.

Length would be determined by depth of water you hunt, mine are rigged with 36"-40". Most, if not all places I hunt around Houston are shallow.

All my teal dekes are on 3' line. That extra foot might drive you nuts . . . nothing like trying to untangle a wad of dekes as the horizon starts to brighten up. Shorter the line, the easier they are to deal with/set up/pick up…. The longer the line, the opposite, and at some point, the time you save setting the desks out and picking them up (with Tex Rig) are lost with hassling with tangle line and length of line not matching your depth needed. I have thought about making tex rig spread with like 1 or 2 feet of line, for long walkin hunts were I know water will be real shallow. Really shallow water, say half foot, all that line will stick out.
