Fellas,
A good friend of mine recently helped me out in a bad spot as good friends do. I'd like to repay the favor in fine style. This buddy of mine is a wing shooter and I thought "I know where a bunch of bird hunters gather", so here I am. I have about a $600 dollar budget and I'd like to get him a high quality bird hunting item that he would really enjoy. Something custom or really nice. Any suggestions?

Bull, I'm just asking O.K. If this person is as good a friend as you say, are you sure you won't insult him by trying to pay him back. You know how it feels deep inside when you do a friend a favor, do you want to take that feeling from him?
There is time, and you must take it, to lay your hand on your dog's head as you walk past him lying on the floor or on his settle, time to talk with him, to remember with him, time to please him, time you can't buy back once he's gone" GBE

Garmin Astro if he has bird dogs.
Quail hunting is like walking into, and out of a beautiful painting all day long. Gene Hill

I'm with Bill on this one, Garmin Astro. If he doesn't have dogs, I would go with a guided hunt somewhere. You can get a couple of day's at the flying P in Hico with nice lodging & all for that.
Haven't had it in years but never spit any out. I am a sucker for happy endings and strapped cowboys.

If he hasn't did one before a European pheasant hunt is fun for wing shooters.
Shopping with your husband is like hunting with the game warden. Experience is what you get, when you didn't get what you wanted.
