Does anybody have a review either negative or positive of this AR?
I'm looking at the durability and dependability of this rifle.
It claims 40% lighter - which I have felt for myself but it also claims 40% stronger?
Price $700.00 with red dot site. I am wondering is it worth it?

I had one and it jammed alot. I fired alot rounds thru it probally upwards of 3k and it would jam about every 3 clips with all different kinds of ammo. It is very light tho

They are junk. I bought one and the rail that you mount your optics on came loose. It is an aluminum rail dovetailed onto the carbon upper. There is only one screw holding it on. Mine stripped and has been on backorder for about 3 months. $700 gun that shoots 15 inch patterns. http://www.texashuntingforum.com/forum/u...erl#Post2273101

Does the carbon fiber play with the accuracy or is that just because it's a end rifle?

The wife loves her's & she has only had 1 jam and that was the very 1st shell loaded into the barrel. Since then she has fired 3 to 400 rounds with 0 problems. All ammo was cheap non brass. It is light as hell and the accuracy is pretty good. The red dot that came with it does not have any magnification & she has requested a scope. Hope this helps.

Numerous reasons, number 1 it being a bushmaster, no fwd assist, no dust cover, the list goes on.
If you dont plan on using it or running it hard, sure....go for it.
If you want a serious weapon, pass.

If you want a serious weapon, pass. There is a forward assist, and a dust cover on the model I saw. But I guess you just don't like bushmaster, which I'm getting a lot of. I don't have any opinion yet.

http://www.bushmaster.com/catalog_carbon15_AZ-C15R97S.aspI dont see a Fwd assist. Ok lets break this down.... Polymer recievers: No thanks, i prefer forged aluminum Weight: 5.5lbs w/out mag (not really much lighter than a reg. lightweight build 1/9 Twist: No thanks 1/7 creates the ability to shoot 55-77gr bullets ONE YEAR WARRANTY: So they believe in their product SOOOO much they'll stand behind it for a whopping 1yr....wow. Price: Way to exspensive for what it is...a fake AR15. Take the hard earned 700 bucks you were going to spend on this "ar" and sit on it untill you have 1000 and get WAY more for your money.

several reviews here look like nonowners opinions! I have one, and here is an actual owners opinion. NO problems with the rail and I don't know but I don't think mine is a sperate piece will have look when i get home. No jam issues. It DOES have a forward assist and dust cover, at least the carbon 15 i own does! the major draw back is that the upper barrel nut is a differnt size thread than aluminum ones. I talked with Bushmaster about it, nobody makes a free float tube or barrel nut that fits it! so your stuck with whatever comes on it or non free floating hand guards. It is nice and light...i had no problems with it.

I have a P27 Bushmaster pistol. Haven't shot it much, but what I have, everything is perfect.

I have one. I also have a S&W M&P 15. My Bushy has forward assist and dust cover. I only have 300-400 rounds through it but about 250 of those have been the cheap steel stuff. not one problem so far. if i had to defend my life i would grab the M&P, however every time I head to the lease to spend several hours walking around i take the bushy. the light weight barrel does get pretty hot if you do a mag dump. my local range is only 200 yards but it shoots straight out to that distance.

You could take that $700 and build a better one than that. Check out www.AR15.com.

Thanks for the owner reviews. My son has decided to go with an aluminum one. More parts and options for his first one.

Wow, the AR 15 snobs.. There are folks posting here that don't even know they now come with forward assists and dust covers. I have had my carbon 15 for over a year. While not an MOA type rifle, I can consistently do a 3" to 3.5" group at 100 yards. I have experienced 1 FTF and that is when I handed the rifle to my son in law and he rode the charging handle. I would estimate that I have put 2000 to 2200 rounds through it and have NEVER had a problem. On a side note, the Bushnell red dot is a fine site for the price zero complaints. In closing, if you troll the boards to advertise your gunshop and call these crap over your $1,700 builds, mmmmk. But for those like me who just need a dependable accurate rifle, well worth the small investment.

A quick google search will get you plenty of reviews and opinions. I have rarely heard anything good about the carbon series, especially from serious end users. If you only shoot a few hundred rounds a year it may serve you well for a time.
