These guys are saying they are bad...because ....someone else says they're bad!
Put up some data....and facts....!
You can read bad reports on the Polaris Rangers all day, the same with the Mule. But to bad rap something because Billy Bob Brown thinks it's bad because he can't even pronounce the name...!
By the way....I own a Polaris Ranger and love it!

You are making a big mistake if you don't look at the Yamaha Rhino.

I test drove a few of those cheap knockoffs and they suck compared to my Ranger. Buy from companys that will stand behind their products.

There are a couple differences between the Rhino and Ranger especially in the older models. Hands down the older model Rhino's were the better machine. All the way up until Polaris modified theirs to compete which I think is the 2008 model.
We are talking torque, ground clearance, and things like that.
Now the Ranger has some things that I wish the Yamaha would offer. A four seater and a bench seat would be nice. I think all the current yahama's have power steering but you don't get it with the Ranger until the the deluxe four seater model.
Do your homework and what will fit your needs. I have a Rhino that is one bad *&^ machine but it doesn't really fit my needs. Currently wish I had a four seater.

Internet/armchair commandos do this crap all day long online. I personally own a Kawasaki Mule Trans 4010, but my mother recently purchased one of the Tractor Supply models, an American Sportworks Wagon. It is American made, except for the Suburu 600cc engine. I like it. It is not my cup of tea, but she got a very sweet deal on it. I would not dismiss them until you have had some personal experience or have even seen one other than in a store.

By the way....I own a Polaris Ranger and love it! Since you are calling us out,,,,,I own a Rhino, Arctic cat Prowler, and a ranger. Bought a HiSun last year, had it 4 days and shifting linkage broke, fixed that, 2 days later rear end went out, then a week later, the frame cracked. All running the same trails and roads on my property and lease as the other ones. My Ranger is the horse, Rhino is the go fast, sporty machine. Arctic Cat is in the middle, about to be sold. There is your FIRST HAND data. DICKey

I owned a Polaris 330 ATP and cursed it from the day I bought it to the day I sold it and felt guilty selling it to the son of someone I knew. That was the hardest starting, coldest natured engine I have ever owened in my 63 years. I would never buy another Polaris product because of this bad experience. I love my Yamaha Rhino and it has not given me a moments grief in the two years I have owned it. It was the right size to fit in my toyhauler, the right size to fit on my 5x10 utility trailer, the right size to fit into my storage shed, narrow enough to go down many trails your Ranger could not go down and cost thousands of dollars less. That is my first hand experience.

Rhino is the go fast, sporty machine.
That statement dis-qualifies the other points. A Rhino.... Sporty? Didn't think those two words could be used in the same sentence.

Don't worry about it Jdickey. You can see from the guys signature that he is confrontational and looking to get a rise. Best thing I find to do with these people is ignore they're un-necessary remarks. It makes them even more mad, I think it's funny. Not to mention he called a Rhino sporty... Had to LOL at that one more time.

Of the 3 GUTIT listed I would have to say the Rhino is the sporty one. But then I am a little biased. It is certainly sportier than a Mule, Gator, Kubota, Bobcat, IMHO

It is certainly sportier than a Mule, Gator, Kubota, Bobcat, IMHO Bubba, thanks for seeing the info for what that the original OP requested it for. The foreign ones just do not seem to have the quality as the 3 I named. You have to own a Rhino to understand the sporty comment. They all have their place, my Rhino is probably the best all-around choice out of them. Although the new Rangers may get my nod soon.

GUTIT, the Rhino was the only choice for me, the Mule was too ugly, too slow, small gas tank, poor ground clearence. The Ranger was too wide, too tall, too expensive for my needs. The Rhino will go places the Ranger won't, the Ranger will tow more and haul more weight but I don't need those attributes.

I agree exactly. By the way, was the twin battery deal your idea? I followed the diagram and it works great.

I got the twin battery idea from another forum. I am going to start doing some night time hog hunting out of the Rhino and I was concerned about running down my cranking battery running the spotlights. That is not a concern now.
