Might be in the market to buy a .40 and have narrowed it down to these two. What do you prefer and why? If other please specify.

Out of the two I would go with the Glock but like said above, I prefer a Sig 226. Nothing wrong with the XDM though, tehy just dont do it for me.

Either or. I love my XDm .40 or you could get a Glock and put a Lone Wolf barrel on it and call it good. I like how the XDm feels, I'm a LOT more accurate with it than the Glock, YMMV.

I agree I voted Glock because that's one of the two models you narrowed it down to. Personally I Run a Sig Sauer P226 just seems more smooth and refined, but my Back up to Sig will be a Glock 35.

You will most probably get more votes for Glock as there are TONS of them out there, they've been around for years. XDm has only been out for a short period of time and has a smaller (but quickly growing) following.

I learned how to shoot a pistol with the XDm, had to qualify with the Glock and ended up shooting better with the Glock the first time I picked it up than I did with the XDm.
This in no way implies the XDm is a bad pistol, it was awesome, I just shoot better with the Glock.
Shoot both before you decide.

Glock because of the weight if you carrying daily. Strong chance your co workers will have a glock and have the same magazines.

XDM for me.
like the other guys said, the glock grip angle did not feel right to me. My wife has the glock for that very reason..the XD did not fit her hand. Funny how that works.

i had a glock 22 3rd gen.. it was a good gun.. just felt there was a better pistol out there so i traded it for a XDm .40.. i really did like that gun... great feel and great shooter.. but i talked myself in to a sig so i traded the XDm off for a p229 .40 i feel it was the BEST deal i have ever made.... Im sold on Sig Sauer
