Anyone have a good idea for ground venison other than hamburgers and spaghetti sauce?

I was thinking maybe venison enchiladas.

Meatloaf, and hamburgers.

enchiladas, meatballs, meatloaf, stuffed bell peppers, etc, etc. If you use hamburger for it, you can use ground venison.

Cook in pan with diced onions. When done add taco seasoning, 1 can of corn, and 1 can of ranch style beans with jalapenos. Let it get good and hot and then layer it over some cool ranch doritos with grated cheese.

Also, good in hamburger helper.

Its very good and very simple.

Forgot to say add salsa, sour cream, or guacamole if you choose.

tacos and sloppy joes are good too.

Anything you'd use ground beef for........BUT BETTER! Chicken Fry.

Get you a Jerky Gun and turn it into jerky. I did about 8#s this past weekend and it turned out pretty darn good.

tacos..burritos..burgerdogs....roll meat up like a hotdog..very tasty

Mccormick taco seasoning is real good with venison makes a good goulash too.

That got me through college. Makes for a cheap and easy meal.

I'll mix it with equal parts pan sausage and cook it crumbled. Use it for breakfast tacos.

We do a lot of pasta dishes with ground venison--kind of like the hamburger helper type meals. My wife doesn't care for beef at all but likes venison, so we eat it regularly.

I like to brown ground venison with venison/pork sausage and then simmer in a pot of various beans. Kind of like a chili.

Tomorrow we are doing venison burgers.

Taco Soup for the Deer Camp

1lb ground venison
1 can ranch style beans
1 can pinto beans
1 can corn
1 can rotel
2 cans chopped tomatos
1 pkg taco seasoning
1 pkg powder ranch seasoning

Salt and pepper to taste. (I do not use either)

Mix all together and slow cook for several hrs in Big Crockpot or on big pot on stovetop (I cooked for 3 1/2 last night and was good)

I usually double the recipe when I go to the ranch to make sure it will feed everyone..... Makes a great afternoon snack on a cold day.

You can top with Cheese and jalapenos if you would like.

You can start before the evening hunt and it will be ready for dinner

Make easy taco's by browning along with diced onions, CILANTRO CILANTRO CILANTRO, jalapenos, Can of el patos(optional).

Hamburger Helper 3 Cheese Lasagna... just had ground venison!!!

Lived off that stuff for about a month back in '06, it'll keep some weight on you lol

I second the goulash. I do 5 lbs meat. Cook a bag of shells, I also add a box of macaroni and cheese for the cheese flavor. Add garlic, onion, I add 2 sticks of italian sausage, can of corn, some okra if you prefer. Mix it all together and yummy. Plus it will feed you for a week. Season it to your preference.

we eat it in everything. I havnt bought any ground beef in at least 5 years.

Growing up the ground venison was mixed 50/50 with beef to make the 1/2 cow we slaughtered last longer.

Now, I don't get alot of my venison ground, the small meat chucks I have made into sausages and the rest into prime cooking cuts. I would bet it would make a great meatloaf or salsbury steak smothered in onions and mushrooms though.

Had some darn good venison cheeseburgers last weekend!

brown it in a skillet with peppers, onions and potatoes (even for breakfast)

ground venison..1lb..box of onion soup mix..1/3 cup of worchestershire sauce..black pepper..makes a mean burger

brown 1 lb ground, add 1 can rotel, 1 can ranch style beans, let simmer for about 10 mins.

put in cake pan and cover with shredded cheese. then cover with 1 box Jif cornbread mix(mixed per directions with extra milk) and bake per directions.
