I was curious if anyone had some thoughts on this ATV.

Saw one for sale for $4K. Would this be a good deal?

All I can say is if you saw it on craigslist, BEWARE !!!!! That's the #1 item scam artists use to try and get someone to bite.

Yamaha makes a good product, but shop around extensively to get a price range. The Grizzly family of quads is more known for the higher displacement bikes such as the 660 and 700. I would say your best bet is a Honda. The Rancher 400 is a great machine, bulletproof engine and beast in 4x4. You will likely pay a little more, but you get more in return.

I had a Kodiak 400, was an early 2000 model. 04 I think. Great 4 wheeler. I really liked it better than my 660 I had. Would go anywhere the 660 would and I felt more in control, and flickable if that makes any sense.

Yamaha makes some good ATV's.

Yep, I had a 05 Kodiak 400 too. They changed the name to grizzly to match up with their bigger bikes.

Great ATV. Never had any issues. sold it and regret having done so. Went everywhere with my buddies who had a polaris 500 and a kawasaki brute force 650 and was never left behind. Couple of places I did better because I was on a lighter bike.

4k sounds about right if its in really good shape. Probably at the higher end of the price range.
