Get with Father of Four on here. He's done alot for vets and servicemen ( http://www.huntingwithsoldiers.com/) and can probably fill you in on the best way to go about doing this the best way for you since it's an official Wounded Warrior Project thing. I've never done anything like this but it might be worth it to look into getting some renters insurance for any loaner guns or something like that. IDK, just trying to think outside the box a little. I also bet there's a person or two on here that can help in similar ways. Let this thread soak like fishing bait and I bet you'll have all the help you need.

That is a great idea. I was talking with father of four for a while about going hunting with him but never got the time. I will see if there is anything that he can do. Thanks!

Is there anyone in the houston area that might know of a sporting clays range that could help us put on a fundraising shoot to try and earn some money to get these guns?

What all do you consider the Houston area? Lumberton, TX has an incredibly nice skeet range: http://1in100gunclub.com/But, it's about 2 hours away . . .

I am dissabled vet myself and you have my word as a Airborne Ranger they will used for good. I can be contacted here or by jroos@woundedwarriorproject.org mobile 904-755-1217 Office 713-383-2704 thanks

Do you know anyone there that could help out setting up a fundraising shoot? I don't, unfortunately. However, they've got benefit shoots on a fairly regular basis. In fact, I know this past weekend that had team shoots that benefited a number of charities . . . I'd say your best bet is getting in touch with them. The worst they can say is no!

All of us are only 10 - 30 minutes away from there so we would be available for that.

what i think would be the ideal way is by word of mouth. American shooter can advertise it in there club house, Between that and fellow THF members and freinds i think it would be a good turn out. i will call them today after work and try to set something up. i have 10+ freinds that would do it i know for sure.
we also can get some help from local charities i would think

I spoke with the owner of hot wells shooting range and here are the questions he has for us.
How many shooters are we thinking of hosting?
When we would like to host the event?
How many rounds each shooter would shoot?
These are all valid questions and here are my thoughts:
When: late July to give us time to spread the word
How many rounds for each shooter: I think we either buy or find someone to donate clay pigeons or set a number of rounds each person can shoot for free.
How many people: of course we would like to get as many as possible but I think we should set a number between 25-50 people.
We also can host a bbq at a shooting range or something like that to raise money.
Any feedback would be helpful
Thank you
