I am buying a new waterfowl gun and can't decide which one to go with, I am leaning toward the Beretta Xtrema2 but want to hear other opinions...whatcha think?

Go to the gunshop, hold them, swing them, see what feels better. Shoot them if you can, I never did. But I settled on the SBE II, namely because I’m rough on guns and do not enjoy cleaning them. So I was looking for a gun that can take the abuse, requires least amount of cleaning, simplest to break down and clean when you have to.

X2 I had this same decision a few years back when the Berretta just came out, the SBEII has a skinny forarm that just seemed to fit my hand a little better then the Berretta, pick them both up, you'll just know which one you like better

beretta, benelli, winchester and browning.....of those three four MFG's its personal choice on features I don't own a SX3 anymore but it was a dang good gun...much like a Maxus without all the frills.

Any of the major players, Beretta, Benelli, Winchester or Browning really depends on your budget, 12ga or 20ga, camo or black. The Beretta 390/3901 series can be had new for $500/$600, SX2 and Gold/Silver lines used for $600/$700 range, the others can be had used from $700 on up. If you have time, look around and find a dealer that has a range that will work with you on making sure the gun fits you, regardless of make/model there will be issues with each, most are minor and as the gun "breaks" in they will diminish or disappear altogether.

most people are going to tell you this one is better than that one. Everyone has their own opinion, as they are entitled to it, but do what others have suggested and go shoulder each of them and see what you feel most comfortable with. Good luck!!! BTW The SBE II is an amazing gun. I love mine!

take bobo's post and guys post...blend them together on high and theres your answer From what I have seen and read that is the Versamax The feel of it even feels like a blend of the Extrema and SBE.

I own the SBEII, its been flawless even though I use it as a paddle, walking stick and baseball bat from time to time. I have shot both the extrema and the maxus a lot....if I was in the market I would give the maxus a serious look.

I'm in the Benelli camp, but just cuz they fit perfectly and swing great for me right out the box. Just like everyone is saying, you can't go wrong with the 3 B's... get what feels best.

I love the Maxus. Light and feels great right out of the box. I like the looks of the extremea but it feels too much like a brick.

If you are not used to a Beretta, you will not like where the safety is either, it will take some getting used to. I have the Maxus and it is a great gun. The Benelli is great too but the Maxus felt much better to me. I think the Browning is the lightest out of the three also? The Browning breaks down in a hurry too.

When you head to the gun shop with your blendor, check out the Maxus.

I shoot an SBE1 and it has done pretty good for me... I also shoot the SBE I. It's a legendary waterfowl gun. I don't mind the kick but I never miss so some guys pull the trigger more in a couple of long weekends than I do in an entire season. If you happen to be a poor shot or if your delicate body bruises easily, perhaps you should consider the SBE II or Beretta. My friends tell me that both are fine guns...

Benelli is a great gun. If you're not dead set on the 3.5" chamber get a Beretta synthetic 390. Best shotgun made. I have 5 of them in synthetic, wood, etc. 3" chamber but flawless in function. I don't buy into the need for 3.5" guns. My buddy shoots a 20 year old old Italian made O/U. His pile of ducks and geese are bigger than the Benelli and Extrema guys we hunt with. Good luck!
