Is there a feeder with timer that allows corn to flow down a shute instead using the spreader plate?

I think they make something like that for feeding dogs ect.

I've been thinking of adding a 12" pipe that surrounds my feeder unit and into a pan at the bottom. Looks fairly simple to do. You just want to make sure you can get to te feeder unit itself without dismantling your whole set-up.

I'm trying to decide how to modify a timer that can release corn into a chute that is directed to a specific ground spot making a pile of corn.

Anybody heard of or have one?

Saw one that was not too pretty but worked. 2 gallon bucket with bottom cutout and a funnel down to a 2 inch pipe to dump out. Bucket was attached in place so spinner plate spun corn into bucket and gravity took over from there. Like I said not pretty but was functional

We've got some protein feeders that work this way. They've got the usual spincast setup, but with a steel tube around it. The feed spins, but is contained by the tube and dumps into a pan at the bottom. The top section unbolts so that you can access the feeder motor and plate. If you're doing this on a standard corn feeder and you just want it to dump onto the ground, you could bolt a piece of steel tubing that was long enough to cover the spinner plate to the bottom of the feeder. In a pinch, you could use a bucket with the bottom cut out. It seems like this method would be easier to set up and maintain since parts are everywhere.

The tube idea I have been thinking about and you guys have convinced me to try it. I was looking a the directional feeder collar and it ocurred to me that a long tube, maybe flexible, directed to the spot i want the corn will work great with timer/spinner already setup...thanks guys!!

I have been wanting to put an auger on my protine feeder to do the same thing. Just can't find a small plastic auger. I have tried a metal drill bit but it was too heavy for a small 12 volt motor. You could attach a flexible hose to it and put it anywhere you wanted it. I was wondering if the capsule feeder folks would sell a couple of their plastic augers. Anyone have a capsul feeder that would check if a mfgs name is possibly on their auger. Back in the old days when we first started useing feeders someone made a timed dump feeder. I even had one of them but can't remember who made it.

Get one of these and put it under your feeder and over your timer/spinner. Then add a PVC 45 to angle to the side or drop the corn straight down. I have done what you are wanting to do with one of these.
