They broke into his safe? Chances are they knew he had a safe. The person who did this has been in his home before.

1st if he's an nra memeber he gets $1,000 free gun insurance, now with that collection thats a drop in the bucket but it might eat up some of the home owners deductible.

2nd- Sad to say but alot of my guns that were stolen ended up at pawnshops and I had to fight 3 different pawn shops tooth and nail to get my guns back dispite having bills of sale from when I bought them as well as statements from the dealers saying I bought them....do your own foot work and check the shops for months to come, it takes over 30day for something to come out of pawn

I found 1 of my rifles for sale sitting on a pawnshop shelf, after it had already been reported stolen.

Tell your friend to check his home owners insurance. Unless he has it in the policy they probably won't cover it all but they should cover some. I have State Farm and my insurance agent was telling me about such things. Won't cost anything for him to check.

BTW - Great job of keeping records!

He needs to be looking at his "friends" and everyone that has been in his house that knew they were there. Is the guns all they took?

Anyone can own a fancy gun but can you shoot it ?

Did they take his entire safe or break into it? With that collection he must have had a good safe... Man, that sucks.

There are certain individuals who will only sale you a gun if you give them a copy of your drivers license. I only give out my drivers license number and no address with bill of sale.
Happens all the time even on other items. They sale you a gun then come back and steal it plus all your other stuff. Unfortunately this has been a proven fact even on other items such as if you are selling an atv or boat, for example.
They never had an interest in purchasing it, just wanted to scope out your place.
Not always true but sad ):

You're right. That's why you have to have a good alarm system too. It will certainly limit the time they have to work on the safe.

that's a big list and the s/n's help. my money is on at least one of them showing up, probably more. Colt Python's are not rare but they really stick out, at least to me, when they come up for sale. I hope the thief gets caught. I'll keep an eye out.

I beg to differ I had to call the cops and tell them that my guns were at different shops, I walked into the store that had my rifle on the rach for sale and showed not only the bill of sale from where I bought it, but the police report with the serial number as well as a copy of the yellow sheet from when I bought it...

I had to take that guy to court and have the judge order him to give it back.

One of the other ones I had stolen was only given back after the judge ordered it to be handed over to me and the pawn shop owner cussed me in the court room and stormed out!!!

Then the judge ordered the detective to follow me to the pawn shop where the owner cused me again while having his employee give me back my gun!

Looks that way sometimes but you gotta start somewhere and an alarm system and safe sure beats putting them under the bed.

Yeah I will tell what works even better than a good alarm system and a hell of a lot more scary, Get you a couple of Good German Shepards!! Hell half my family is afraid to come over and won't come over unless i lock them up outside somewhere!!! I would love to see someone break in, I bet they couldn't break back out fast enough!!!
Anyway that sucks and agree that with an entire collection like that it was luck for them to stumble on it, it would have to be an"inside" job, definatley friends, family or maybe a construction worker that may have been there but whoever it was definately knew what they were getting before they got it
