Thanks, I prefer mckenzie and I have yet to see a wall pedestal for an axis that I like, I think if I were gonna do an axis wall pedestal it would be time to take a whitetail form and change out the head and do some form modifications cause I personally think the axis wall pedestals stink, have looked at all my taxis books and we agree they aren't good.

A waste to you, yes. A waste to Him, no. Would I pay that, No, But I can do it Myself. LOL I see you'r point. I just shake my head when folks say something a rip off, stupid, outrageous, etc. etc, when its somebody elses money and mount, or truck, or gun, or blind, or whetever you need to fill in the blank with.

No he have a web site? Rarely will you hear me say something is a total waste if someone wants it, but if you want something like that do a full pedestal where it can seen was my thinking. Seems odd to do something that can't be admired.

I agree.. $600 for a deer in "velvet" I could understand. $175 more is ridiculous for just a wall pedestal. I only charge $65 extra. It's a little more work than just a regular wall mount. But it also depends on the taxidermist and what is there preference. Rocks vs leather, etc. But $175 more..... can't see that.

Jets Scimitar wall pedestal forums are awesome.. They really look good... Jet Smith his self is a really nice guy... His shop is in Kerrville,TX...
BMD- What where you saying was too high?? The life size Axis and Fallow mounts with bases for $3,000... For their quality of work on the deer and bases it's not bad at all. Down here most guys are charging allot more... Their was a big article in Texas Trophy Hunters Magazine about them they mounted big whitetail Lifesize were saying their quality of work and prices are really reasonable.. I'll have to take some pics and post some on here...
I know what you mean every taxidermist is different.. There are some Taxidermist charging $900 for whitetail wall pedestal...

Wow, there are some guys out there not charging enough for their work. Im at $650 for an axis shoulder, $100 to preserve the velvet and $812.50 for a pedestal/wall pedestal with a leather backing. On lifesize mounts like this axis Im at $3500 without a base.

Here are 3 axis shoulder mounts that were done about 4-7 yrs ago now. One in velvet and 2 without. Nothing special but a normal shoulder mount. These ran from $500-$600 back then. This guys does some really great wall and freestanding pedestals.
Are idiots multiplying faster than normal people?

I did not shoot those but a friend did...lol..but I was there when the two hard horns ones were killed in the same day. B&B Taxidermy in Houston did those mounts. He has done some great shoulder and pedestal mounts for me and for other guys that I have seen. Mike is a really great taxi. He is not the cheapest but you will not find many that are better on any game animal that walks on this earth.
