I'm thinking I want to upgrade to an electronic powder scale. Thinking maybe RCBS 1500 or...
Any opinions? Warnings? Stay away from? This ones good but...

RCBS has been a good set for me no Problems,but I still like and use my 20 year old set RCBS10-10 I just like them

I have Lyman DPS 3 & have been happy w/ it. Had to be inventive on where I put the garage fan when loading during summer time, but I suspect that to be true w/ any digital scale.

Probably a lot of scales(digital and balance) have been badmouthed because of "air currents" that we don't notice.Even breathing in the direction of the scale can cause an erratic behavior. Sure gets hot without a fan, and I get tired of holding my breath while weighing

I have the RCBS 1500. I did a lot of comparisons before getting this one and it has been a good choice. Like noted above, keep the electronic scales out of wind current (fans as well as central air conditioning vents). The 1500 has an enclosure around the scales and I have found that if there is an air current that even with the enclosure closed, movement around the scale can influence the measurement. It is a good piece of equipment and I think you will like it.

I read some reviews of it and was concerned about cleaning, turns out the model they sell now is updated and many of the negatives you read are fixed.

yep & the older models can be upgraded.... the older models dispense much faster w/ the upgrade.

Electronic scales are good when they do work, but its best to have a beamer just in case the other fails for whatever reason.
Always good to have a back-up beam scale when the Electronic scale falls short. Calibration is a must to check one with the other. If it was me, I would keep a beamer on hand as back-up for the next purchase. No batteries and no plug-ins to worry about.

I have the new hornady scale. I am not overly impressed with it at this point. If I had to do it again, I'd get the Lyman 1200 DPS III. I know someone that has it and it is accurate and fast.

I've been using a PACT Digital Precision Powder Scale since about 1995. I sold it to a guy in Alaska once and it got broken in shipping, so he sent it back to me for a refund and I sent it back to PACT and they fixed it. It's always been pretty darned reliable when treated right.
I still have my RCBS 5-10, to be sure, but I hardly ever use it anymore. I got the PACT so I could weigh and sort cast bullets (that'll wear you out if you're trying to do it with a balance beam scale), but it became my "go-to" scale in pretty short order. I'd recommend it to anyone, based on MY own experience.

the RCBS Chargemaster setup is an awesome combo to run with I use it to load my precision rifle rounds an have yet to find any problem with it

 2x on the RCBS, even testing small batches I just use the scale!
