Has anyone had any experience with the Ruger SR-556 AR platform rifles? They make a good looking piston operated 6.8 that has my interest piqued.

The last I heard was that the Ruger 6.8 was still using SAAMI specs and hasent upgraded to the Spec II or the 6.8 x 43 chamber and still using a 1/10 barrel instead of the 1/11. Which this would be fine if you didn't plan on shooting any of the hotter available rounds. I think AR Performance sells an upgraded Ruger 6.8.

I'll check that out before I drop any cash. Thanks for the info.

Well they are using the older SAMMI chambers so I may just go with a rifle from AR Performance. They seem to be one of the leaders in the 6.8 platform and even offer the 6.8X43 chambering with more freebore if you want to shoot the hotter Tac loads and they are a little less money to boot.

Good choice. ARP has a very good reputation in the industry.

The 1/10 twist is a negative, for me anyway.
