OK here the deal i set up a feeder on a deer lease about a mounth ago or a little longer, i had a game camara on it, the first 2 weeks nothing but a lot of deer (a good thing). gradually over the past few weeks the deer start dissipearing and the hogs start showing up. now its nothing but hogs, no deer pics nothing in the last 2 weeks. what should i do to get the deer back. any help would be greatly appreciated. ( and yes i am trapping the crap out of the pigs a ways from my feeder). Thanx

As discussed last week on here, start shooting them at the feeder to get the deer back.

Fence it, I just did mine last week. Tired of feeding the pigs. It's to hard to keep them in check.

You do have to use some very strong fencing with good supports.

Where are you located a buddy and I can come out there with our bows and shoot them for you so you don't have to worry about the noise of a rifle.

I try to work on this problem during the summer months. When they get too thick I'll wait for them at night and take them out using a spotlight. I'll usually take a buddy and we setup the rifle before turning on the light. We've had 100% success at least 80% of the time.

A cheap solar powered yard light or 2 with the lens colored red by a magic marker attached to the feeder should solve your problem.

Look at the time on the pics and then go sit and wait on them. Did I mention to sit with an automatic 12 guage with 00 buck! If you shoot enough of them, the rest will find a safer place to dine.

You don't need any spotlight with a 12 guage and 00 buck!

I've killed a many that way!

I understand we can set up around the feeder or sneak up (your choice) and we have spotlights on the bows so we can draw, shine, and STICK

Couple questions. How big is your place? Good roads? Are you hunting with someone else to hold the light?

What we have done that works everytime (like 4 times but 100% results) we know hogs are going to a feeder or area is to corn the roads and their trails to the feeder/area. Then you just drive around til you spot them in the baited area. Jump out and let em rip. If you want to get really serious, build a platform like we got on the back of the pick up. One guy spotlights and the other one is in the swivel chair. None will excape then if it isn't toooo thick.

My calendar shows a full moon on the 25th. That = no spot light needed. It should still be bright enough on the weekend 27th-28th. I use the solar landscape lights on my feeder as well.

I will come out for free and shoot them with a night scope and a suppressor on an AR15. Should be able get get 6 or 7 before they figure it out.

There is always Tannerite. Might get our feeder though.
