anybody have some idea to add a new flavor to a crawfish boil. I have always just used the old bay spice, lemon, and garlic.
New Idea would be welcome

Find Slap Ya Mama boil and Swampfire and mix them 50/50. I also throw in some of the seafood boil in bags, several lemons, garlic, and onions.
Throw in a stick of butter to make them easier to peel, and ALWAYS throw in some whole mushrooms. People who hate mushrooms will be knocking others out of the way to get more mushrooms. They're always the first to go in my boils.

Have a customer in Houma that gave me a good idea the other day. He said to put whole artichokes in the boil. We did last Saturday and they were THE BOMB. Just peel'm and eat'm.

Easiest cobbler mix in the world, easiest best gumbo I ever ate; jambalaya and etoufe are awesome, red beans and rice mix is a staple here, as is their dirty rice mix....

We used to use 2 bags of crab boil and 2- 3 lemons. Boil the crawfish then put them in a cooler and pour on one cup white pepper and one cup red pepper, shake them and leave them in the cooler for 10 minutes. Be sure to have plenty of beer ready....

I use the big texas can of orange or pineapple juice and fill it up half way. (No water) Cut up some lime/lemon, oranges, onions, garlic throw it in the pot. Add some bay leaves, butter, crawfish liquid boil & seasoning. I also add creole seasoning too.

Zatarain's or Slap Yo' Mama Crab boil (dry), couple of bottles of the liquid boil...depending on how much you're boiling.
Throw in a couple of lemons, sliced in halves. We also use about 8-10 onions, and several cloves of garlic.
Take a whole pineapple, poke a bunch of holes in it, and throw it in your pot. Keep it in there until it becomes somewhat soft and then remove it for later. Once you've boiled all your crawdads, potatoes, etc., slice up that pineapple and serve. Best stuff ever!

How We Boil Crawfish The amount of crawfish a person can eat varies with the person. I found out about the best way to determine how much to buy is to just ask each person how much they can eat. However, if you don’t want to do that I would say 5 lbs each for the guys and around 3 lbs each for the women would be a good starting point. However, I know some guys that can scarf down 10 lbs and not even belch. Put the crawfish in an ice chest and fill halfway with water. Let them sit for 15 or 20 minutes, then drain out the water and repeat the process until the water stays clear. Ingredients • Crawfish • Louisiana Crab and Crawfish boil • Corn • Potatoes • Garlic pods • Lemons • Mushrooms • Onions • Rock Salt • Some Adult beverages • Music 1. Turn on the music…..might as well crank it up. 2. Make a drink or open a beer…….your preference. 3. Fill the pot about ¾ full of water and start boiling. 4. After the water is boiling add the corn, potatoes, garlic pods, onions, lemons (squeeze the lemons) add about a 1/3 box of rock salt and a generous amount of Louisiana Crab and Crawfish boil. 5. Cook until the potatoes are about halfway cooked and then add in the crawfish. 6. Add more Louisiana Crab and Crawfish boil and cook for 20 minutes. 6.5 Add in a generous amount of butter here to soften the shell. 7. Add in mushrooms and cook for an additional 5 or 10 minutes. 8. Turn off the fire and let them soak for about 30 minutes. This is what you will get. These were from our last mini crawfish boil for two. 10 lbs. For the folks that need more spice put some Louisiana Crab and Crawfish boil into a salt shaker and they can sprinkle more on theirs.
