I went down by Austin this past weekend to the Heart of Texas Spaniel Club and entered Rocky in a hunt test down there. I wasn't sure what level to enter him at, but he's really turned it on in the last couple of weeks, so I ended up putting him at the master level. Well, turned out to be a good decision because we got qualifying scores on both days! Rocky concluded the upland portion of the test by tracking down a wounded runner and putting on a little show for the gallery. We had a ton of fun and can't wait for the next one we can go to!

Congrats!
The ribbons are for the handler and the praise is for the pup!

Thanks guys; it felt like a real accomplishment. There were some high quality dogs that have been run in field trials that didn't get qualifying scores, which made it feel like even more of an accomplishment. One of the judges told me afterwards that I definitely have a field trial caliber dog, which was good to hear some I'm planning on trialing him this fall. Stinkbelly, I'm looking to KS again this fall too. I'll have another pup by then as well. Rocky's breeding was done again and the bitch is due in 6 days. I've got pick of the litter and the breeder is going to keep the pup until September and get it started for me. So, I'll have a pack of little hounds for the prairies now! smile
