I'm just looking to see how many wildlife management majors are out there in THF land. I am about to finish my jr year at Texas Tech, and dad has started asking about what kind of jobs I can expect to find once I graduate. So, my question for anyone graduated with that particular degree is, What sort of job description do you have? I'm just starting to get some feelers out into the job market since I am getting close to graduating. You can also PM me if you want to be a little more private.

Clint,
Take a look at the Texas A&M job board. It is the most thorough listing of jobs for wildlife management majors in the world. http://wfsc.tamu.edu/jobboard/
Take a look at the jobs you are interested in for a career. More importantly pay attention to the qualifications they want. Then the question becomes do you qualify for them? If not, you have two years to make it happen.

Ideally you should have had your "feelers" out your freshmen year...and have been gaining valuable experience at least every summer, if not more often. The competition is tough, the strong survive, the weak die off....basic population dynamics and competition theory.

I'll help you all I can if you are serious about finding a job, let me know.

1999 graduate TTU - B.S. Wildlife Mgmt.
2002 graduate TAMUK - M.S. Wildlife Mgmt.
