I have been in an AK mood lately but really know nothing about them. I have been leaning toward a WASR 10 (Romainian), but have heard mixed reviews. Does anyone on here have any experience with them.

I dont really care about finish quality. I jsut want the thing to go bang every time and to be reasonably accurate.

Also, I'm really not wanting to spend more than $500.

I bought a ROMARM SAR-1. Very reliable and fairly accurate

Bought a Romanian underflolder from classic arms. great price and 1000 rds of ammo. I still have problems with it jamming. The shell jams going into the chamber. I have four mags that came with it and all of them jam. I wish I could find someone who has worked on AK's I've been told to file the mags others think the gun needs work? I'm not sure.

A WASR fits this bill.

$500 could probably get you a Yugo though. $500 is alot of $$ in an AK.

The Romy wasr 10s are 420 somthing on Centerfire sytems. The Yugos's, I cannot find anywhere. I have a dealer looking and he said that every supplier that he uses hasn't seen a Yugo in long time.

I've had a Romanian for a few years. I don't remember ANY hiccup at all with this one, probably only put about 1k rounds through it though.
