I just did it. Gotta be your third renewal, go to the website, fill out the forms, update your personal info, pay the 78 bucks (I think that's the amount)with a credit card, and wait. They use the picture from the last renewal.

I did mine on line which was my second, in October and had my new license by December.

It's easy and you do have to sign up for the class but you won't have to be fingerprinted or photographed which is pretty neat.

Once i learned that i didn't "NEED" to kill something, and that if i did kill something all the fun stopped and work began, i was a much better hunter.

I let mine lapse after the second renewal. I just didn't see the need to pay that tax anymore. The Castle Law was the last straw for me because I did not carry in the summer much anyway due to the conceal problems. It will break me or put me in jail if (God forbid) I ever have to shoot anyone anyway. I have not seen anything in the 2nd. ammendent that says you have to be trained and pay a tax to protect yourself. The training did not really tell me anything that I didn't know to begin with. If you shoot someone you better fear for your life and it better be the last resort.

The Castle law doesn't effect the way I carry at all.

I carry in the summer wearing shorts and a T shirt and have my P3AT in the front pocket in a pocket holster that you can't even tell or feel that it is there, and even in the winter it fits nicely in the front pocket of my jeans.

The main issue I have with the castle law is while you can carry in your vehicle it must be concealed which may take some fumbling for if you really need it in a hurry, and when you leave your vehicle if you should stop off between your destination and home you must leave the gun in your vehicle and the theives know this.

I would have a hard time knowing my gun that was purchased in my name was stolen and now in the hands of a criminal, and even if reported it could still be used in a crime and maybe a murder.

That shouldn't happen if you are carrying it on you!

As for as the training and not shooting anyone only as a last resort, well that is the first thing that anyone should consider before they even purchase a gun for self defense and if you are uncomfortable with the thought of maybe having to take a life, then you should maybe not consider a firearm.

If you think you can carry concealed everywhere you go you need to go back to class. Unless you break the law or severely restrict your movement you will have to leave it locked in your vehicle.

Been carrying over three years and haven't broken the law one time.

It's called common sense.

If you know you are going somewhere that doesn't allow it you don't go there or leave the gun at home.

I won't ever leave it locked in a vehicle, but that's just me!

I feel just as much at risk driving the 10 miles to the HS football game as I do driving to Walmart but that's just me.

You've managed to derail the original posters intent to inform with your opinion that according to you we don't need a CHL.

I'm sure there are plenty who feel as you do, but that isn't what the original post was about.

To each his own!
