I've got a new blind framed out and floor installed, waiting on windows to arrive then put up the walls and roof. Question is: which would be more durable from the elements, 7/16" OSB board or plywood of the same thickness ?

Either one, I'll be painting with an oil based paint and then periodically spraying with Thompsons water seal to get the most life out it, just wandering which might be best to go with..... Thanks !!!

OSB is more durable. When OSB is exposed to moisture, it will swell a little. Plywood comes apart and as it dries, becomes wavy. Make sure to put 2 coats of quality exterior paint on it and re-paint every 2 years and you'll be good.

You can go either, paint an prine all the edges even bottom, side On screws use stainless/ galvanize self tappers with large caps, Not black drywall or framers Thats where moisture rots them out, and they get loose.

Thanks, I was leaning towards OSB, it's a little bit cheaper and I figured it would hold up better. Going to do an oil base prime first, then an oil base exterior cover and did get the galvanized drill tip screws, the interior frame is square tubing. Hope the windows will be in by this weekend so I can get the sides up and the cut-outs made, then do the painting and install the windows after this is all finished. Thanks alot !!!
