Hey gang! I have a Wildview camera and it is taking pictures of NOTHING!!! We do have one Pic of a BIG 9 point but my other partners think that the wind is making the camera move and take pics. Is this possible? If so, what would be a good camera? Any advise would be great.

I was looking at those. Could the wind take those pics?

Any bush in front of the camera, also I have found that moving shadows will set the camera off. A bird flying across can set it off.

You'll get false triggers from most of the cams when the weather is hot. They have to sense both heat and movement so when the ambient temp is already high one of the requirements to trigger has already been met, add movement from limbs of weeds blowing or a bird or something and you get good scenery pictures. You'll probably have better luck when it cools down some.

Just my 2 cents from what I've seen.

I finally took my Wildview back to Cabela's and upgraded to the Moultrie i40. I had the Wildview Extreme 3. It took good daytime pics...when it worked. It worked fine for about two months, then it started giving me a full card of nothing every time I checked it. It was going through 4 C batteries every two weeks. I was a huge fan of Wildview until my last one started doing that. It was always in the shade or pointed north to avoid the heat trigger. It's no fun at all to wait a week or two to check trail cam pics only to find a sequence of 300 pics snapped every minute.

You can get the infrared Moultrie i40 for about $200. It's an amazing camera. It's been out a month now and the battery still says 96%. No flash and the night pics are very nice. I highly recommend it.

Unfortunately the I40 is not immune from this either. My 2 had taken over 2000 photos when I picked up my SD cards last Saturday. Of those, maybe 10% or so were actual game photos. As noted this problem is mainly during the day only - not many/any false triggers at night.

I should also mention that I had the camera set on 2 pic burst, after seeing all those pics I changed it to take 1 pick each trigger with a 1 minute delay in between.

+1 for the Cuddeback. They are expensive, but worth it imho. Most if not all models have built in sensitivity adjustment and as has already been stated, it is the heat that is most likely the culprit.

cuddeback used to have a good camera but they put out a terrible line this year. I was at cabelas there were at least twelve piled up in the bargain bin.

when I had stealths they would take hundreds of pictures of nothing, they had an adjustable sensitivity but that didn't help.

I don't have a problem with false triggers with my buckeye's. I even have them set to trigger every ten seconds, that would be alot of blank pictures if they did false trigger.

Point your cams to the north.

I seem to get a lot of blanks myself. I have a Moultree. But I also get a lot of game pics. Usually in a weeks time I will have about 300 pics. It is 50% game pics and 50% pics of my feeder. Love having the camera though. I feel that I have gotten to know more about my deer, in fact, I have named all of my bucks coming to my feeder!!!
