How many of yall use it? Likes and dislikes? Trying to decide if it would be worth it to buy it or just keep using the standard safety harness that came with my tree stand.

kill em and grill em

I have one that I have used for several years now. I really like it and would not climb into a tree stand without it.

I bought a HSS before season and I consider it a good investment in life, limb, and staying out of a wheelchair. Once I got it out of the packaging I was concerned about how comfortable it would be to set in but it was comfortable during my weekend in the stand. FYI, the Primos vest does not have a safety harness. It only has a hole for a harness strap to go through.

I don't know how anyone can get in a stand without a safety harness. I have done it a few times, and I never can fully relax without it. I have a bad habit of nodding off to sleep waiting on the sun to come up. They are well worth whatever trouble and discomfort goes along with them. I have a Seat-O-The-Pants Fastback. I really like it. Not sure if I could do the vest thing, but I like the idea. I've made putting my safety harness on a regular part of getting dressed to hunt if I'm going to be going up a tree.

what kind of stands are you talking about. If i had a latch on stand than yes i would have a safety system. When i am in my tripod or ladder stand no safety system for me. how do you use the safety system in tripod stand.

Lock-on and chain-ons, yes.
Climbing stand, absolutely!
Ladder stand, yes.
Tripod, no.

A fall from a 15' ladder stand would hurt just as much as a fall from a lock-on 15-20' up in the air. For that matter, a fall from 6' would hurt pretty bad.

the whole idea of safety systems are safety lol. a 6 foot fall can hurt you badly, a 20 foot fall can kill you. they dont make them for their health, I know I should start using one for sure. OSHA requires that anyone working 6 feet off the ground or higher wears a safety harness..go figure..I hate to hear about fellow hunters being hurt or killed cause of this stuff, I need to grow up and be responsible and start using mine.

don't leave home without it, I love to hunt, but its not worth ending up in a wheel chair or worse.
