What kind of food are you looking for? A few of my favorites are Catfish Corner, Joe Allens, Texas Roadhouse, Los Arcos, Monterrey, and Olivias. Town Crier is good as is Sharon's BBQ. If you've got the scratch Perini Steakhouse in B-Gap is the only way to fly.

You might check out The Beehive in downtown Abilene too. They grill a good steak. And their burgers are plenty good too. It's a nice place and the prices are bearable.

It depends whether you are on per diem or actual expenses?

Belle's Chicken Dinner House 2002 N. Clack, Abilene 325-677-7100. You'll get plenty of good food and the kids will get filled up!

Kind of depends on where you going to be in town. The Catfish Corner, all you can eat is a filler upper for high school kids, about 8th and S Treadaway. The Buffet City, and pizza places, Cici's and Mr Gatti's have the all you can eat.

Take the short drive to Buffalo Gap and go to Perini Ranch. You will not be disappointed. Harold's is great BBQ too and the Beehive is very tasty.

For cheap Chinese food I like the sizzling chicken from Little Panda. And the lunch special is only ~$4.50

Is Harolds the place near downtown that's a dive with great cornbread? I've only been there once, but loved it if that's the place.
