I am looking to either build or buy a dog box for my truck. Preferrably with an area on top to store stuff and for 2 dogs. Any advice on build your own or buy?

I had the same idea several years ago. I actually did build one. By the time I did everything I could have bought one a whole lot better and lighter. In 04 when I built it the sheet of aluminum alone was 180.00. That has gone way up. I also used 1" tubing to frame out the box which measured 4'x4'x3'. I also used 1" styrfoam for insulation and galvinized sheet metal for the inside. I had close to 500.00 in materials before I knew it.
I like my Diamond Deluxe box a whole lot better.

I made this one last month.  Made out of 24 ga sheet metal with 1 1/2 insulaion around all sides. It'll hold two labs if need be. It's just an idea if you needed one.
