I know this has prolly been discussed to high heaven but I'm gonna ask anyway. Which hand calls do you guys use as your "go to"? I've been hunting some country where the varmint hunters are pretty prevelant and I think the cats and dogs are getting "immune" to the electronic sounds. I've decided to put together a few good hand calls and see if our success rate gets better.
Throw me your ideas, commercial and custom. I know there are some call makers on this very board, so let me know what to get!!!

I'm old school I guess. I don't even own an electronic caller. My dad has been making custom calls since the early 70's. Not cheap, but as good as they get, and dang good lookin' calls as well.

I'll post some pics tomorrow. He doesn't have a website, or advertise at all. He sales to people he knows, and by word of mouth. They are built out of cattle horns, and wood with a pocket knife and dremmel tool. One at a time.

The late Dick Kirby of Quaker boy game calls was a big fan of his and had several calls built.

There is a member on here that makes calls, and they are very affordable. I have a set, and they do work.

X2 on Tj's calls you can find him right hear on the forum and he can build you any thing you want wood, horn, delrin, Ect. He is my partner in Take'em Out Predator Productions and when we get our DVD finished up you can see his calls in action. We have called a lot of predators up in the last 2 years of filming using Tj's calls exclusively. Good luck too ya. Skinner
