My wife and I shot our first round of sporting clays today!

I have only shot skeet in the past and this was alot different and certainly entertaining!

I started my wife off shooting a shotgun (Remmy 870 20 guage) about 9 months ago and she is deadly on dove and the skeet range.

I broke 67 of 100
She broke 49 of 100

For never shooting it before we were just having a good time.

What is a "good" score for sporting clays?

Good shooting. You can get addicted to clays pretty quickly. I used to shoot a lot, and what constitutes a "good" score depends a lot on how difficult the course is. I've been to ranges where I'd shoot 70's in a practice round, and then come back for a tournament the next week, and, with the targets set differently, shoot in the 50's. That's one of the great challenges of sporting clays. Not only is every range different, but, each range can vary from one week to the next. Always something new and exciting, which makes it a far more interesting challenge than skeet or trap. Good luck and have fun!
