I have always liked feathers over veins for the forgiveness. A feather will lay down when it brushes against something and not afect the path of the arrow. The problem we have all had with feathers is even with the powder waterproofing they still can get wet and where I hunt in the Rockys this is no good. I have even packed in a dozen arrows to take 6 and leave 6 in case mine get wet I can dry them and repowder. It becomes a hasstle so I switched to veins. Always used 4" duaveins and fleched a hard right helical for optimum spin and stabilization. Seem to me a 4" duravein would stabilize the arrow better than a short blazer vein. Am I wrong? I guess its like anything else try it and see what happens. Well lets see what you all have to say about this before I stip an arrow and try it! Thanks for any and all advise and veiws or experience with this new aged vein.

I have shot Blazer for the last 5 years and there are very durable. They don't bend or wrinkle if you shoot them through an aminal or target.

I have now switched to the quick fletch. You simply slid the on the arrow and slowly ease them into a glass of hot water. I shoot out to 60 yards and they fly great with my Muzzy's.

Started shooting them about 4 yrs. ago and will never go back. They make your arrow start spinning sooner and tighter off the string, thus resulting in more accurate and tighter groups...

I agree, Blazers hands down over the rest.

I recently switched to the blazers and they are awesome. They are stiffer than the longer fletchings and seem to last longer before ripping

It's design. I thought the same thing about the longer vanes but the Blazers do stabilize the arrow better in my experience.

I switched from Duravanes to Blazers and never looked back. As I understand it , its the height of the vane that helps it steer better. I have also tried the Norway fusion vane and they were work well also.. If you dont switch, I have a bunch of duravanes I need to get rid of.. PM me..

I did my own experiment a while back. From 50 yards and windy, blazers where dead on with my mechs and fixed blades. With the same set up but with vanes, I held a tight group, but it was about 8 inches right. Blazers tend to steer them better at further distances esp thru wind.

here is the best way i can explain it. How many missles (tomahawks) do you see with long fins on them, Not many. reason being is the shorter fin is more accurate and stabile compared to a longer one. same as with a arrow. shorter veins= better accuracy.

there is a thing called over-spin! which can actually cause detriment to arrows flight path. Anyways...a less accurate shooter does need more forgiveness which can be gained by using shorter veins....i guess thats where Blazers come into to spectrum???

I have experimented with staggering my blazer vanes. I havent come to any conclusions yet but it does seem to group better at longer distances. I have also experimented using four vanes vs three

just about every 3D shooter i know uses blazer vanes and i guess since we are bad shooters we use them instead of 4in duraveins cause we need more forgivness. bottom line is they work a hell of alot better than 4in veins thats why we use them

I have not once ever, put veins on an arrow, and I'm not about to start now...

I do however, put vanes on them.

I'm a recent convert to the Blazers (I shot Duravanes for years, and before that I shot fletchings), but so far, they've done me right. I have learned that they do not like helical on them on the skinny arrows I'm shooting, but keep them more or less straight, and they stick really nice, and offer a good flight. I'm happy with them.

I liked the Blazers but switched to Fuzion last year. I like them better than the Blazers and that is saying something.
