hope that was a 230 gr ball and not a 530 gr. 530 over 100 gr FF would get meat on both ends.

The answer is FLINTLOCK! Now, what was the question?

Belive me it was a 530 round ball and 100 grains on the dot of ffg bp. 12 shots making sure it was sighted in good out to 100 yards and it thumps you right in the cheek every time after 12 shots it looked as if someone biffed me in the face lol

I think you mean .530 diameter round ball. Never heard of a round ball weighing 530 grains.

My first M.L. purchase was a CVA 50 cal carbine tracker I practiced hitting a 10 inch cast iron pan tied to a tree at 60-65 yards bought it in 1993. My second was a Thompson center "New Englader" 50 cal this is a sweet shooting rifle, my next is a Traditions Hawken 54 cal had it over a year it has not been fired. My latest purchase a 50 cal Traditions Perust Ambush in-line and I shot it last week and I still need to sight it the scope however it shoots great. I still have the CVA, and Thompson. I plan on shooting the 54 cal soon....

I like the percussion GPR with a forty caliber fast twist barrel. And I like the TC Hawken with a flintlock smoothbore .62 barrel. And, I'm gonna be in rapture when my .458 bore TC New Englander barrel comes home and I can shoot 45-70 bullets cast from pure lead. It's gonna have a .458 bore diameter, seven round grooves rifling at 24" twist. Will be able to use a card wad and .457-.458 diameter bullets over about 70 grains of FFg. This is going to be a serious no bs hunting piece.
So, OK, reckon I likes 'em all.

Haven't done bullets in 30 years or more. .54 flintlock with 90 gr FFG and 230 gr roundball knocks em flat.
