I have not. But I cant think of any reason as to why there would not be any cats in that area.

There have been some sightings at Government Canyon State Natural Area. I don't see why there could not be a big cat over to the northeast.

That would be awesome if it was a Texas Black cat.

The pets in those close together homes might make for some easy meals for a couger

I'd believe a Bobcat or Yotes in that area as I've seen them out my back window in the Jersey Village area.

If there have been sightings that close I would not be surprised if one is around. I bet people see cats 1 out of 10+ times that they around. They are smart. We had a supposed sighting on our lease in Blanco county, but is seeming to be less and less likely...why people feel the need to BS on things like this is beyond me

I'm sure most of you in the San Antonio and Spring Branch area are familiar with Camp Bullis.

I hunted there for around 16 years and as you well know the encroachment of subdivisions has pretty much surrounded the old Army post, but there are documented sightings of mountain lion on Post and especially around the Cibolo Creek area which is on the northern perimiter.

I've sighted two lions in past years and one was near the intersection of Blanco and Borgfeild road just a few hundred yards inside the fence on Bullis, and I wasn't the only one who has seen them.

It's not suprising that people have never seen one even hunting for several years in an area as they are pretty much nocturnal, and I've hunted for over 52 years and have seen a total of two and they were on Camp Bullis during daylight hours, and I've hunted all over the hill country and a large portion of south Texas, that said I've heard them and I've found fresh sign and kills they made but only actually saw them but twice.

So anyone says they've heard reports I have to believe them because I know they are there, or at least were when they were sighted.

Once i learned that i didn't "NEED" to kill something, and that if i did kill something all the fun stopped and work began, i was a much better hunter.

My biology teacher who is supposedly an expert on lions would beg to differ...I approached her on the subject and she said Texas has a struggling population outside of West Texas. I am afraid that I would disagree with her on that. Just because they are rarely seen and even more scarcely shot(mainly because of lack of ability to hunt with dogs compared to more mountainous areas prone to large trees and less brush such as the western states and west Texas) does not mean that they are not there. I personally think they are all over the place, just no one ever sees them and after years of being hunted, they are far more scared of us than we are of them, as are most animals. sorry for ranting, just in the mood and a little buzzed
