Had the pleasure of running dogs this morning with DoubleB20 and CoolHandsGSP. Learned several things, one we're not the best bird planters in North Texas, and two those quail birds are smarter than you think. Had alot of birds jumping early (planting skills) and most of those buggers flew where they couldn't be shot. CoolHands supplied some nice birds for the workout and shot when he could which wasn't often, and did some great work with the camera. Probably the nicest piece of work was Brian's Sparky sticking his bird out 20 ft from the cover. Didn't have much luck getting birds killed for my Deuce but she tried to help. Brian's Ace dog did some good work on several finds. My pride and joy 3 mo. old Beau pointed his first quail with scent only and then let me move in front of him to flush. Good stuff. My Ace is miffed at the lack of pics but will get over it. All in all a great way to spend a Sat. morning. This last pic has less to do with working dogs than my life long dream of being a proctologist.

Not very well, I normaly swing them several times and throw them into cover, but the cover here was ok but not real thick. But however I did it it didn't work so good. I'm thinking that Brian's birds stuck better then mine. And my fav pic of Beau and promise this is the last.

Beau looks like he's going to have a lot of style. Keep posting pics. I for one likem. Sparky has a great nose on him and passes it on to his offspring. He's the shire of both my females. Brian was nice enough to show my son some of his bird planting techniques.
Shopping with your husband is like hunting with the game warden. Experience is what you get, when you didn't get what you wanted.

Nice job guy's. Great pics! That Beau looks like he is really gonna have a nice style.
Haven't had it in years but never spit any out. I am a sucker for happy endings and strapped cowboys.

I had someone show a neat trick and you all may know it already but when you tuck their head under a wing lay them down on that side and straighten the legs out. It has worked everytime for me. They stay asleep for about ten minutes. Awesome photos of some good looking dogs working.
