Hello my friends,I have a old 110L savage that i bought in 1975. Left handed its not a long action or short action, it has the sight lug on the middle of the barrel like some of the older guns. what I need to know where can I buy a new stock for it. I was in 5th grade when I got this gun ,I plowed on a 900 case tractor all summer for it.Thanks ed

Are the guns you are comparing it to also savages? Savage short and long actions are different lengths than remingtons and others. Even if it is a 243 it can still be a long action. 110 is savage long action model.

I restocked my 35 year old 110DL with a Ramline synthetic and bit of phone help from the guys at Brownells. Unfortunately there is not a lot of choices out there, but they told me what I could use and what I would have to do to make it work. Mine is a long action 30.06 - I think you're going to be a short action.
I could have bought the stock cheaper at Ramline but they didn't offer any help at all. Brownell's told me what to do and said if it didn't work, send it back. If your looking for wood you may have to go custom or get lucky.
The mounting screw distance has to match and I had to in-let it about 1/16th on each side of the magazine well for the internal magazine. I did notice that there were grooves inside the bottom of the well where I think one could cut out to match an external mag. A little careful time with a Dremel tool and it fit like a glove. Make sure and tighten the mounting screws real good. A dollar bill will slide all the way to the front mount. Gun still shoots to point of aim.
Good Luck......
