Just got back last night. Here is my write up to share with you.....
I never have hunted the red river/texoma area, but I now know the reason for the airboat. We we traveling on INCHES of water at times, going places that never would be accessible via traditional watercraft.
There are Hogs everywhere. I must admit, we did a lot of walking, but doing so, we saw a lot of areas and flushed a lot of animals.
Would I do it again.... yes. But I would cut the weekend up between cat fishing and hog hunting.

Since we were stalking the islands, they were staying ahead of us. There were areas that looked like 635. The hogs have torn the places apart. You could see tracks of yotes chasing hogs.
Sure enough, Kevin said we would sit one island and at dark they would be coming out. Right at about 45 mins of shooting light, here comes one "bad-arse" boar.....
Kevin put us on the animals. During the airboat ride, we saw 20 - 30 hogs on the bank, and were able to jump off and put a stalk to them. That area is THICK.
We did flush out about 5 deer walking the banks. The way the airboat comes in as an asset for the hunt is once you are dropped off on one side of an island, the airboat goes to the other and runs the bank, pushing the hogs towards you.
We also walked off with 30 lbs of catfish filets. I am booking again, but going to do a "surf and turf" combo. Catfish during the day, and hunt hogs in the morning and dusk. They were pulling out 40 - 50 pounders while we were on the islands......
