I think I will start out with the Remington 700 CDL 7mm Ultra Mag opening morning, then switch to my Sendero 300 Ultra Mag for that afternoon when I sit on top of one of the mountains over looking a big dry creek bottom.

After that I will float around between the ones listed above and my Model 7 7SAUM and my Browning stainless 7 Mag. It all depends on where I decide to hunt and what kind of weather we have.

Might even throw my new Ruger 280 into the mix at some point.

If I can't get it done with a bow, I'll cheat with the .300 mag.

Mike, I'll leave it for the hogs but it is always in the gun case.

It will be a 308. Probably the new Remington 750 in 308 I just got in. It shot great with open sights and fmj, and should do even better with the EOTech holo sight on it.

If not that, in south texas it will be the FP10 Savage in 308 with the Springfield Government 4-14 on it.

Garland public shooting range is not far from you. It is a good for a 100 yards. It is the only one I know of around you.

Thanks, I'll check it out - that won't be too far at all. 100 yards will do fine. In years past I've used the 50 yard indoor range at Targetmaster and used balistic tables for 50 yard placement with a 200yard zero but I'd rather do it right this year.

Besides this will be my boys first year to hunt I need to get him used to shooting at 100 yards.

Earl

good gawd almightly, did remington give you a sponsorship?

never seen someone own so many guns chambered for remington rounds

For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

No sponsor from Remington just yet, but I am working on it!

But now that you have got me feeling bad for some of the other makers out there I have decided to scratch the Ruger 280 idea and replace it with a Browning 270 WSM.

I did not realize they were all Remington rounds when I posted that, so I decided to spread the love a little bit.
