I went in a pawn shop today looking for a rolling toolbox and spotted something behind the counter. It was a Model 70 Coyote in 25 WSSM for $500. It is at least 99% no scratches or wear anywhere. I got the guy to $400 and bought it. I really like the blued/stainless/laminated look. I know they are just a glorified 25-06 and ammo/brass is hard to find but somehow it just needed to come home with me. Ever buy a gun "just because"?

Yep. $400 is a good deal too. I had the exact rifle in .223 for a while. Nice find.

Yeah, the scope came with, it's just a cheap Barska. But it should work until I find something else. This is my first "pawn shop find" in 50 years on this earth. I usually just find junk in those places

+1. My buddy wanted to me to go with him to look at a rifle he was thinking about getting for his first cause he is new to hunting. He took me to a local pawn shop here and showed me a used regular old VG1 ($399 version new) with a Leupold VX-1 on it. Pawn guy had it priced at $700. I laughed and got my buddy outta there quick. Freaking crazy.

They had a Rem 770 right beside this gun in 270 for $450.00. He actually told me it might be a better deal since he knew nothing about this "funny looking" Winchester.

A few of my guns were bought just because I was having a bad day. Needed something to cheer me up!

I would say over 3/4 of my gun purchases were on a lark. I have a few in the safe that have been there for years I have never shot, but they are still fun to own,

I don't think I've ever bought a gun that was a really justified, responsible, well thought out deal.

rofl Son - That's how you end up with a safe full of guns!

Last year I couldn't decide whether I wanted a 300WSM or get nostalgic and buy an older model Marlin 336 in .35 Rem. I just hate decisions like that so I compromised - - - - - wait for it....... bolt

confused2

......Yep, bought both of 'em cheers

Picked up a beutifully sporterized Argentine Mauser in 7.65 Arg. $100. They had already sold the gun I had hoped to get, so this was the consolatio prize. Didn't know anything about it, but thought it was neat.
