If you can get south and have some brush it should be great. Some places are good north are good as far as horns go, but not so good as far as numbers go.
If you could tell me exactly where it is I might could help you more.

I hunted just SE of Comanche for several years and it was pretty good. Unfortunately our MLD biologist got some bad data for our ranch which ended up in us taking entirely too many does, plus our landowner was not the most honest guy either. But definitely good potential there. I have a friend who owns a smallish place (a little less than 200 AC.) just a couple miles from where we were. He hunts it pretty much exclusively.....may bring someone from time to time. And he's killed some real nice 130-140 class deer on his place.

Like others have said, it probably just depends exactly where in the county you are.....there will be very good and not so good.

Good luck!!

I'm east of Proctor Lake. In thre years, I've seen around 10 total. Got tons of pics, 99% at night, Don't have alot of cover on the place. Won't be back this year for deer, thinking of maybe leasing for ducks, as there are 1000's

Our lease is 5 miles west nw of priddy and we have a good amount of deer. I know of several leases in the area that friends of mine hunt and they all see lots of deer. We see a real good buck to doe ratio.

Hello to the forum...my first post. Anyways, does anybody hunt in the Newburg WMA? My brother and I are looking at purchasing some recreational property in that area...we'd like to join the property up for the Newburg WMA for tax purposes as well.

You sure your talking about Newburg, Tx? The only Newburg WMA I could find with a google search was in Minnesota. I've been around there most of my life and know many of the landowners but never heard of a Wildlife Management Area in Newburg,Tx.

No...it's called Newburg Wildlife Management Association. It's below Comanche/Hwy 36 & and north of FM218 and on both sides of Hwy 16.
