I bought a cheap spotting scope a couple of weeks ago and I need help figuring out how to temporarily mount in different deer stands.

I've seen some different c-clamps or big alligator/gaffer clips with different mounts attached. Most of the good ones are like $60 and up. I even tried building one with a large clamp and two 10 inch pieces of aluminum bar bolted together to make a swinging arm, but even with a rubber washer between the bars, I can't get enough friction/torque to make it adjustable without it slowly dropping out of position.

Has anyone used anything they would recommend? Any suggestions on my aluminum swing arm?

Shoot straight and always carry a 7mm Remington Magnum.

jsoukup, try cutting two plastic disk from a milk jug, place one on eachside of the rubber washer as spacers, the aluminum will swing easier. use a 1/4x20 bolt with washer(s) for hooking up the spotting scope to the swing arm.

I started out with nothing and I still have most of it left.

i bought a window mount for mine and then attached the window mount to a 1" c-clamp

It's not skybusting, if you make the shot.
