6 month old Belle has had the runs for over a day now. Haven't changed her diet or anything else. She is still active and eating and drinking normally.

10 min ago she squirted again and this time there was blood in it. Going to try to get her into the vet if they are open...have any of ya'll ever experienced something similiar?

That happened to Cuervo. Blood was from the diarreah wearing on the butt hole. Keep her hydrated, it wouldn't hurt to give here some childrens pepto (in a piece of bread or peanut butter). Maybe take it easy on solid food and give her some low sodium chicken broth and rice.

Several times.

I would not freak out. It is likely esspecially with her age that she just ate something she should not have.

I would give her some Pepto, and see how she acts. My doctor always says as long as she is still eating, and not acting different IE feeling bad. Then it will likely Pass.

Pumpkin...get some pure 100% pumpkin in a can and give her some of that it helps firm up the squirts.

Hope she gets to feeling better.

I went to the vet yesterday. Dog flipped out when they tried to draw blood. They warned me that he might have the runs after getting that worked up. Got home, and he had a bad case of the squirts. That could be another thing. Have used pumpkin before as well.

All shots, heartworm etc are good. Vet said to watch her for another 24 hours and if it doesn't clear up then bring her in. She likes to eat wood from my log pile and I gotta think that could wreck a stomach or butt.

That's what I would do. Dogs get diarrhea for a 1000 different reasons. Anything that persists longer than 24 hrs should get a vets diagnosis IMO. Good luck. Keep the water bowl full.

All my labs have been wood eatin fools. The one I just put in the kennel just came in from eating the bottom panel off my privacy fence (hence the kennel) hope it clears up soon.

I would pursue contacting a vet. One of labs had a similar bout and spent a night at the vet's with puppy virus.

We have periodically been having the same problem with our pup, as long as he is still acting, eating and drinking normally our vet said not to be concerned. Since labs put everything in thier mouth it will happen. He said to feed him Fiber One cereal instead of puppy chow when it happens, that is solved the problem within 12 hours for us.

Pumpkin will firm it up but I'd still keep an eye on the blood.

There are a lot of bacterial infections dogs can get, feed a light broth and do some pepto by dogs weight. If the dog starts to act weak add a few cc's of honey to the pepto for sugar loss. If bleeding continues or starts to smell very iron like or dogs gums get cold pale and drooling and signs of parvo arise ie: turning away from food or water and puking squirting immediately ater drinking or eating. Get to vet asap. If no vet available give 5cc pepto + 2cc honey + 1.5cc bleach PER 50 lb dog. Try this about every hr (along with any broth or water the dog will drink) if dog is in bad shape. I know this sounds crazy but I have saved many of young dogs with this mixture that were suffering from parvo virus. Hope everything goes ok for your doggie.

I had the same thing happen with my pup a while back. I went to the vet, but might have been premature. I hear the pumpkin and yogurt is a great combination.

Give your trainer a call. Angie always has good insight in these matters.

Probably OK, but could signify some kind of infection or problem. Vets advice is probably the best, for some reason dogs can endure weird symptoms that usually go away after a short period of time. It's not like, you see blood in your poop and it's Dr. time (or time to stop eating Parker's chili).

if it continues, get em to the doc for a stool sample.

How much pumpkin? Mixed it with 1/4 her normal food tonight. She is asleep now. Will wake her up in an hour to go outside. Should I mix in a pepto tablet?

Couple tablespoons of pumpkin. It won't clear it up immediately but it should help.
