Does it hurt to leave them out during the season or do you pick them up everyday? I am talking hunting privite.

Pick em up. I've hunted pit blinds with hundreds of decoys that are left out all year, and the birds get smart to em during the day. I believe more birds would be killed over fewer decoys that were removed everyday.

Well it depends on where you are at. I used to hunt on a lake in Louisiana and you had to have close to a 500 decoy spread to compete. You left your decoys out all season. From what I can tell here in Texas you pick them up and you don't need as many.
Some people believe that the ducks get used to them if you leave them out. That may be but I don't truly agree. Ducks are migratory birds for a reason. They arent going to stay on the lake you are hunting very long so with that being said I don't believe they give themselves enough time to get used to the decoys. But all in all its a matter of opinion and how much work you want to do each day you hunt.

Yeah, you can kill a mess of ducks with the decoys out all season, but you have to get new birds. Most of the birds will make large migrations and then hang around for a few days or even weeks in the same area before leaving. If you want to maximize your chances, pick em up.
