Can someone tell me what's the difference between a muzzle break and a ported barrel?

Porting is gas ports cut in the barrel, a break is an attachment sometimes remmovable sometimes perminently attached to the end of the barrel with gas ports.

Porting the barrel only really controls muzzle jump where a break controls muzzle jump and recoil.
