What does everyone think of CVA, I`m thinking about buying one in .243? Pros vs. Cons, etc...

DeerSlayer,
Buying one in .243 califer this evening from Academy in stainless steel for my son. Looked at one over the weekend and it looked pretty decent. I have a TC Encore with several barrels and always like the idea of single shot; however, did not want to shell out the bucks for a new one.
The Stalker looks like one of the low end CVA rifles but I was pleased with the quality of the Bergara barrel. Will need to get it scoped and sighted in and can let you know if it can drive a tack or not.

were working on loads for my buddies, so far what I have found is this thing doesnt like to be clean, takes about 5 shots after cleaning and then it will hold around 1" group. Were going to put about a 100 rounds through it breaking it in to see if it improves.

It isn't bad, no creep just tougher to pull... I took mine out last week to the range and it worked/grouped well- I'll tell ya, carrying the lightweight rifle around is a dream, but the 30-06 really kicks hard! Any products out there that can help with the muzzle jump?

Do yall still like them? Thiking hard on getting one in 243. I would prolly pass. After many single shots I have come to the conclusion they can be very finicky. I would get a bolt action. stevens at academy is only 249.00 vanguard is 399.00

CVA Stalker in 308 @ 100 Yds. Second day on the bench. Not bad considering I was using cheap russian surplus ammo.

Nope, not too bad at all. Thanks for the update. I just picked up a 7mm-08 and am trying to convince myself I did the right thing. I appreciate it

Best I know, the barrels aren't interchangeable.
