In order to get your hunting license and legally hunt with it you need a hunter's ed card correct? My brother in law, a medically retired vet, bought a hunting/fishing license at walmart a few months ago. Now if he has a hunting license but no hunter's ed card, is he allowed to hunt legally and take me with him? I'm 16, in the process of getting my hunter's ed card, but our hunt will be before I get my actual card. The reason I asked is because I heard a story about a guy on his way to hunt deer and a G.W. came by and asked for his paper work. He had his hunting license but no hunter's ed card. Got a ticket for it, now whether it's true or not I have no idea, but it's what I heard.

My Hunter Education number is on my hunting license. I have never been asked to see my actual hunter's education certificate. I have also heard of people getting tickets for this but have never seen it first hand.
You should have been here yesterday!

You can also pay 10.00 for a one year waiver. X2 that will get you by for your hunt. But you still have to be with someone who is either exempt from having or who has hunters education. The $10 does not allow you to put off taking the course for a year so you can hunt by yourself.

if you was born after sept 1 1971 you have to have it unless your with a adult.but the day you turn 17 it doesn't matter how many adult there is.there is a referal for one yr.and you do not have to have it to buy a lic.whats bad now they chaged it for 9 yr olds can take it. thats to young to let them go in the field alone
