If your on a budget I would go with a 7.62 Phantom SS, it will work on all your .223 stuff as well as your 308. If you want Titanium, then I would recommend a Gemtech Sandstorm.

Do not wish to step on DSS's toes, but also take a look at Shark Suppressors.

They are outstanding quality and made in the Dallas area. DSS you might want to meet the owner and carry them.

They are top notch with minimal POI shift and very quiet on a 308.

Those are out of my budget.

Might take a look at my suppressors too. Available in stainless and titanium. They meter lower than the YHM with a 28 to 30 dB reduction. Start at 850.00 for Stainless in 30 cal. OK Guys - I see DB reductions in the 30s. What is the DB of a non suppressed 308?

I have never seen a YHM 5.56 or 7.62 meter that low and I do this for a living. Would really surprise me if that is true. In fact I have never seen any can go -35 dB.

I just purchased an AR15...223/5.56. I have contemplated getting a can for it.

If the DB range for a 223 is in the 150 to 160 area...and the can reduces that to say 120 to 130....is there THAT much of a difference?? On "paper", reducing it by only 30 or so DB's just doesn't seem worth the expense to me...so I guess what I am asking is:

Is a 30 to 35 DB reduction THAT noticeable...?

Are there other benefits of a can (other than the noise reduction)that DOES warrant the expense...accuracy??....flash suppressing...??

Yes there is a HUGE difference. Other benefits include velocity increase, recoil reduction, smaller shot groups, less fatigue after a day of shooting and the one most people like, it's cool looking.

Big difference between 30 and 35 dB. Read how dB 's are measured and you will see why.

Now for another question...in your experience, how much luck will I have in getting a LOE to sign off on the suppressor??

It's my understanding that I need an LOE to sign off on it, or to purchase a trust. I'm seeing prices at $450 and up for a trust. Through my numerous years in the mortgage business, I have made many contacts with police officers. I have no less that 20 I can contact today to ask, but if it's pretty much a moot point I'd rather not. I'm not even sure to what rank an LOE would have to be to even have the authority to sign off on one. And then theres departmental policy...

In your experience...or anyones for that matter....is getting a LOE to sign off on a suppressor a dead end? or have you heard of anyone being successful in doing so??....just trying to save some cash if I can....

It is difficult and in some areas you can not convince a LEO to sign off.
One nice thing with my suppressors is I include the trust with the purchase of the suppressor. This saves you a considerable amount of money. Also included with my suppressor is a lifetime warranty.
These are all things to consider when looking for a suppressor. Not all suppressors or companies are created equal.
