So we went on our first real hunt yesterday and it was successful. We didn't kill an insurgent but we found an IED and well thats our job over here to hunt for and find IEDs. It was a 50 LB jug of Homemade explosives basically the same stuff used on the government building in OK. Pretty much fertilizer. Well thats whats going on here ill try and keep you guys posted when I can.

Yeah its not too bad other than we have been moving around a lot. The food here is not very good even for deployed standards. The closest Chow Hall to us is a British one and all they ever have is curry. Spent most of Christmas eve in a bunker due to Rocket attacks. Ill try and post more pics when I can.

Looks like your around Helmond Province, my cousin is flying support for you guys (VM 169). My son is posted on a Marine base rite outside of Herat, if you get over to the Western side I think they have better chow over there.

We are in Kandahar province but we were pretty close to Helmand when I took that pic. We are on a tiny outpost in a valley surrounded by huge mountains. Chow isnt too bad but ive had better.

We definitly appreciate all that you do for us Thanks!!!

Just giving an update. Still not much going on here for now apparently the insurgents don't enjoy the cold so they are chillin in Pakistan right now. Hopefully things will get more interesting in a few months.

Well we had a sucessful hunt yesterday. We did't kill an insurgent but we found an IED and that is our job as route clearance. I like to think of it as hunting for IEDs. This makes our 5th so far and this is the slow time of year. Summer should be lots of fun.

Be careful hunting those IED's and keep your head down. Thanks again for your service and keep us posted.

Hey everyone just thought id give yall an update. Things are going pretty well here the action has picked up a little and it only going to keep doing so. We have been supporting special forces on and off which is pretty cool other than that just been passing the time until I get to come home and enjoy the freedom we fight for.
