I want to replace my release. What is the best release on the market? Will use it for hunting, not 3D shoots.

I really want to go to a thumb release. I hate attaching my release when i get out of the truck and having to deal with it on the way to the blind. A thumb release i could leave hanging on my draw loop would be great.

I use Scott calipers with the buckle strap. Never had any issues and they are adjustable. You can find then around 50 bucks if you will watch the classifieds here and on Archerytalk..Maybe Ebay

I had a Scott with the nylon strap. Use a true fire now. Like the Scott better.

I've got a Scott Sabertooth with a floppy strap, so far, I like it pretty good. I can stuff the caliper head in the elastic of my shirt cuff to keep it out of the way while I'm walking around.

I shot various Scott releases for years. After Spot Hogg released the Wiseguy at the ATA show last year I decided to try one. Best release I have used. Only down side is that the wrist strap that comes with it is velcro. I am swapping out the wrist strap now that the season is over to see what works best.

Called Spot Hogg direct, but think you can get them from distributors also.

I looked at the Scott Sabertooth at Academy today. $80. I'll check into the Spott Hogg, too. I'm in no huge hurry so I may do some eBay shopping. Thanks!

To me no release compares to a Carter. I have bought 4 Carter 2 Shots over the years, and still have one today. For those wanting to try a thumb release, I had a Carter 4 Finger Chocolate Addiction for a while, but it's just not for me. I went back to the 2 Shot and never looked back.
